Dr. Peter M. Agnone, OD

Dr. Agnone’s personal mission is: “To Serve Well.”

Dr. Agnone is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry where he received his “Doctor of Optometry” degree.  He received his undergraduate “Bachelor of Arts” degree from Michigan State University and did post-graduate work at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Agnone was recently named the “National Optometrist of the Year” by the American Optometric Association (AOA) for 2014-2015.  The award was presented to Dr. Agnone at the Association’s annual meeting in Philadelphia on June 25, 2014. Dr. Agnone also served on the AOA Executive Third Party Committee.

Dr. Agnone was also honored as the Illinois College of Optometry “2017 Alumnus of the Year.”

An active member in the Michigan Optometric Association (MOA), Dr. Agnone served on the MOA Board of Trustees from 1995 to 2004 and as President in 2003. Dr. Agnone was named the “Michigan Optometrist of the Year” in 2000 and also received the MOA “Distinguished Service Award” in 2011. Dr. Agnone was appointed by Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve on the Michigan State Board of Optometry from 2008 to 2012.

Over the years, Dr. Agnone has been active in his local elementary schools teaching children about the eye’s anatomy and how it works.  He also lectures to teachers on how to help recognize common eye and vision problems.  He has been an invited guest to speak about eye and vision care for Career Day and Science Day at the Grand Blanc public schools on multiple occasions.  Dr. Agnone has regularly provided eye exams and glasses to children with limited family income or health insurance in the school district.

Dr. Agnone has been involved with the Boy Scouts of America, including District Chairman, for many years. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts’ Tall Pine Council in the Flint area, and received numerous service and recognition awards, including the “District Award of Merit.”  In addition, Dr. Agnone has mentored many students in the health care field, and a number of these students have gone on to become optometrists.

Dr. Agnone is married to Sally and they have two grown children: Michael and Katie.  Dr. Agnone is an avid reader and active runner.

Dr. Walker: “I love eyes!”

I love eyes! Everything to do with our eyes: from the fashion aspect of frames and contact lenses, to the health and nutrition needed to keep us seeing well.

I love the intricate balance of vision and sports. Can you think of a sport where your reaction time doesn’t depend on our sight? …and how we can train ourselves to be a world class athlete through our vision.
More about learning–did you know that over 80% of all new knowledge comes through our eyes? Success at school at an early age requires sharp vision and eyes that “team” and work well with each other. We can stimulate our newborn’s vision to increase their brain activity right from birth through our eyes. Please ask how.. I would love to go into detail on this subject.

I graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University when less than 5% of all optometrists were woman. Now that statistic has changed to over 50%!
Over 18 years ago I merged my private optometric practice (Walker Vision across from the Grand Blanc Kroger) with Dr. Peter Agnone’s private office and together we formed Grand Blanc Eyes. We both have practiced in the Grand Blanc Michigan area for over 35 years.

In the past my passion has been raising my four (now adult) sons here in Grand Blanc. We truly have been a soccer family for over 28 years in a row from AYSO 4 year olds to countless travel games to Division 1 NCAA games.

Now my passion is spending time with my two adorable grandsons, attending Bible studies, and caring for my elderly mother (my how time flies by!)

I am blessed beyond words to have my son, Dr. Timothy Walker, practicing with me here for the past two years along with my future daughter in law, Dr. Morganne Bayliss. They are the future of optometry:  smart, compassionate, full of energy, and passionate about providing the best care possible for their patients.

Our philosophy here at Grand Blanc Eyes is based on family. Everyone who enters our door is part of our family–treated with honor and respect. Dr. Stacey A. Alarie, OD, FAAO

Dr.  Stacey Alarie is a life-long Grand Blanc resident having graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1984.  She received her undergraduate degree from Ferris State University and continued her optometric studies at the Illinois College of  Optometry (ICO) graduating in 1990.  While at ICO, Dr. Alarie was active in student government, intramural athletics, and worked in the sports vision department of the Illinois Eye Institute.

Dr. Alarie returned to the area after graduation and started practicing in Lapeer, Michigan.  In 2000, she received her fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).  She eventually made her way back to Grand Blanc and Grand Blanc Eyes!  She has been active with the high school music boosters, the Chamber of Commerce, and is the past chair of the Grand Blanc Community Fund—part of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.  She is also active as a member of a group of singers and musicians that leads the 9:00 service at United Methodist Church.

Dr. Alarie lives in Grand Blanc with her husband, Bill, and son, Andrew, who recently has graduated from Michigan Technological University.

Dr. Matthew J. Agnone, OD

Ocular Efficiency

I want you to feel massively productive while working, I want to increase your eye’s efficiency, reduce your eye fatigue, and make you more sustained as you work throughout the day. My goal for you is clear and comfortable vision with un-strained eyes.

Eye Nutrition

We will discuss the latest research to feel nourished throughout your body and your eyes. We discuss evidence based nutrition to improve headaches, prevent macular degeneration and dry eye, reverse ageing, and fight against bodily and eye cancers.

Scleral Contact Lenses

I am passionate about new technology custom scleral contact lenses and their exceptional ability to help patients struggling with compromised vision related to the cornea. I have trained extensively in fitting medically-necessary contact lenses and specialty lenses for patients with keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, LASIK surgery ectasia, or irregular cornea topographies.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is known as a silent disease, meaning you could have it without knowing and lose vision. I specialize in early detection of glaucoma; as well as, rule out diseases that can mimic glaucoma such as multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, or conditions with poor blood perfusion and vascular disease. Together we follow a plan for your eyes and explain every step along the way.

Dr. Timothy D. Walker, OD

We are pleased to welcome the newest member of our team to Grand Blanc Eyes: Dr. Timothy Walker! Dr. Tim has been a Grand Blanc resident his whole life; growing up from kindergarten through graduation from Grand Blanc High School in 2009. He was passionate about our community even at a young age; demonstrated by his involvement in many sports and extracurricular activities throughout his grade school years.

He continued his education at Olivet Nazarene University for his Bachelor of Science. He played collegiate soccer for four years. During his college career he was active in many student organizations including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Best Buddies and the Pre-Med Club. He also spent his summers working for Grand Blanc Eyes.

Tim earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. During his optometric studies Tim has been involved in various different student organizations including; Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, AOSA and Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. Tim has also been on trips to Washington D.C. to advocate for the optometric profession.

He has a passion to give back to his community and volunteering his time. Tim has been fortunate to have traveled on eye care missions trips; once to Jacmel, Haiti and twice to La Esperanza, Honduras.

On Tim’s clinical rotations, he specialized in scleral contact lenses, vision therapy, low vision, and primary care. We cannot wait to have him join our team!

Dr. Morganne P. Bayliss, OD

Dr. Morganne Bayliss is a dedicated optometrist with a comprehensive approach to healthcare, emphasizing whole-body wellness. Graduating from the Michigan College of Optometry, she is driven by the belief that eyes serve as a window to systemic health. Dr. Bayliss embraces the motto of preventive medicine, proactively working to prevent diseases rather than solely treating them. Her practice encompasses primary care optometry, catering to patients of all ages. Dr. Bayliss demonstrates her commitment to providing comprehensive eye care with specialized training in:

She firmly believes that her individualized approach to eye exams provides patients with the highest level of care. Dr. Bayliss is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient experiences by tailoring her services to meet each individual’s unique needs. With a strong emphasis on patient education; she strives to ensure that her patients understand their eye health and the treatment options available to them. Dr. Bayliss is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry and continuously seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Bayliss is actively involved in her community and recreational sports. She enjoys spending time with her family and their beloved dogs. She now resides in the beautiful town of Grand Blanc with her husband, a Grand Blanc native.
